To be honest, i dont know.. i dont use it. Dont use facebook either. But i dont seem to find it in my applist, so i cannot test it. Is it an app? Or how do u access it?
Hi Sandvold, because of the 3g problem I changed your Rom to AOKP Milestone 6 ROM. Everything works now perfectly on ICS 4.04. Thanks and hope to see you again for jelly bean.
Wifi and 3G evaluation: reception is much better, not as it should be, but on previous rom it was much worse.. i used to have a weak signal standing only 2 meters from my router, and this is now better.
misc comments: - typing in websites is a little better but could use some work. i assume this has something to do with memory/cpu usage, as text messages typ ok.
the google now function works for me, i think. if i keep pressing the search button, i get a voice search option. so if this is normal, it works.
i noticed my headphones jack doesnt work. tested with 3.5mm input to my amplifier, and my earphones. phone doesnt move a bit about it, just wont get detected.
this is it for now. if i stumble upon other issues, u will hear from me.

I dont know if this is the right place for this post, so bear with me please if it is not.
I have a very strange error, which I have noticed in this build, but also in the 0.17.1 - I don't know if it was there before; Whenever I am typing on my (stock)keyboard a word starting with l(L), I can only type 2 letters, so Love becomes Lo etc. It doesn't matter if the L is capital or not.
Edit: I just tested the other letters as well, and I noticed a similar problem writing Kg(then block), but here 3 letters are possible with other combinations like Kat.
This is no matter what program I use to type in (Notepad, mail, browser)
Have you seen such a problem before? This is driving me nuts.
Edit: This is not a problem when I use Smart Keyboard Pro, which I prefer. Unfortunately it crashes very regularly in ICS, so I have to fall back to the stock keyboard.
I have a small improvement, which you can add in the next version. An file explorer! I would be glad if this would be add. But otherwise, very good rom! I think the best for the HTC desire! Good work! Keep it up! Ps, you should change the background for the recorder and the flashlight! So it would looks much better ;D I can help you to make good looking pictures!
Why dont u use root explorer? U can find it in the play store.. and it does what its supposed to do, and worth the little money. Otherwise, install android assistant, it has a built in file explorer, but only opens sd card. But it has lot of other goodies too.
You have probably solved this by now but I had the same issue. if you download the su binary zip from http://androidsu.com/superuser/ and install from recovery it should hopefully solve the issue

Hi, this is a great ROM and many thanks for the hard work.

This is my first ROM I installed. It works totally fine with your instructions, except that one thing. It freezes quite often. I tried to find out why or when it does it, but I haven't been successful yet. I'd love to continue using this ROM, but it's really difficult with this problem.
BTW those problems with 3G happened only 2 times in first days and then not anymore and I travel a lot.

after a longer evaluation: wifi reception is a little better, however, internet on wifi is perfect without issues, but, on 3G its beeing a pain in the ass. it happens frequently, that after a period of not using the phone, internet suddenly drops. browser gives "error connecting to proxy server" if that happens, i have to reboot the phone / turn airplane mode on and off, and all works fine usually. sometimes i just have to reboot. this is an annoying issue, and should be looked after.
headphones jack does not work, tested with various things, but phone will not move a thing when something is connected. it just wont work at all.
still the issues from typing in websites text boxes. for usernames/passwords its usually ok. but when answering on say a forum post this goes extremely slow. phone laggs like hell.. i am active on the htc desire forum, and i usually answered by phone. this is quite impossible now, and i really want this to work better.
but, apart from this, its still the best ICS for Desire available in my eyes. and i am waiting for the next update :)
Great Rom. I have been using these for quite some time now and I know a lot of development has gone into it.
On this one I have noticed it does get stuck on the boot animation after a restart. Phone runs great from initial install reboots fine the first few times no issues at all. However after a few hours of use if I do a reboot it gets stuck on the boot animation. To resolve I have to do a factory setting wipe and then it reboots again. Ive tried wiping caches but factory wipe is the only way.
I am running stock launcher with int2sd. Ive tried formatting everything before reinstall to solve the issue but to no avail as of yet. Will probably try again tmr repartition my sd and just totally start from scratch to see if I have missed something.
Dan, i have The Same problem. I apears achter i update my apz throuh playstore. Achter that , IT hangs in boot. I resolve IT by booting in recovery and then advance restore, restore ext. Then The phone wil boot normaly.

Well at least I know I'm not going mad if a few other people have the same issue. I'll give 22 suggestion a try restoring ext in recovery as an interim fix. Hopefully new beta will be out soon to resolve it. Apart this everything else works good for me. Dan

Well ive made some progress with the boot loop but it does involve removing Google Play.
I followed the instructions from Gobywan on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1355660&page=1661 It did involve using adb and deleting com.android.vending plus others. The later posts also describe how to restore Google Play.
Phone now reboots and very quick I must say. Hope this helps
Interestingly, I removed the vending.apk from the rom, installed it and it works fine - then I tried three different Play Store versions and none would work - they all 'force close' on starting Play Store.
This is a great Rom the best ICS for desire,but this stupid new play store has messed it up. All i know is how to instal a zip from recovery,i know nothing about terminal abd etc etc. please help sandvold i will donate
- Make sure you have adb and phone drivers so you can connect to the phone from computer via "adb shell" - Google for Vending-3.8.15.noupdate.norestrictions.apk, download it, rename to Vending.apk, place to sd card root
- Connect phone to PC via USB - Boot into recovery (4EXT, in my case) - Mount data, system and sdcard (in 'mounts and storage')
- run the command line as administrator - cd Program Files(x86)/Android/android-sdk/platform-tools/ - adb shell (try this 'till a differnet prompt apears!)
- cd /data/app/ - rm -r com.android.vending-2.apk or com.android.vending-1.apk
Settle the correct Play Store app (assuming you placed the downloaded Vending.apk to the root folder of sd card) - cp /sdcard/Vending.apk /system/app/
- Clear Dalvik cache
- Reboot
After the first boot, Google Play didn't work on my phone. I installed the app by using ES File Browser again. After a reboot again, Google Play Store works fine now.
This fix will work until next reboot, because Google Play will update itself as soon as it will be connected. Unless devs can find a better fix we will have to do all this after every reboot.
Vending-3.8.15.noupdate.norestrictions.apk do not make an update! See instructions above! Of course its a hack, but by now the only way to get a usable ICS ROM..
Hi, I have a problem with scripts. How do I use other A2SD but the phone runs only once. After reboot, now will not turn on. Probem is, for example, the script SD2EXT +
i'm currently trying cm7.2 with prozor's init2sd script and its perfect for my requirements.. one simple question? does this rom has prozor's script?? i mean without activating any commands it automatically shows ext4 as internal memory.. thank u very much
This is great ROM Since video recording worked only on 15fps, I flashed stock rooted rom for awhile and been waiting for updates. I was hoping I could flash ICS again when video is fixed. I check for it very often, but it already did not update since long time. I'm just curious if there will be update? Should I keep waiting? Or I should just flash this version and enjoy with 15fps video recording.

Hey guys. I fully rooted my HTC Desire and installed Sandvold's ICS ROM for Desire, but I faced bootloop error when I restarted my phone. I have read about that bootloop and all about fixing it. I tried to fix that bootloop following this guide. I have installed ADB and phone drivers successfully.So after root I installed patched A2SDX by ADB. Next, I rebooted my phone, then entered to recovery menu and mounted data, system and sdcard (in 'Mounts and storage'). But when I try to cd /data/data in ADB while connected my HTC Desire, the error shows up and I can't access to that folder (/data/data/). One time I randomly entered to /data/data/ by cd command in cmd. So what's the problem? Please help, because I don't get it and I have no ideas how to fix it :/ The main fact is, that I can list directories by ls command, and I see /data/ folder in /data/ folder, but i can't access it. The error is that /sbin/sh: cd : can't cd to data/data/. Btw i can see that folder by Root Explorer

I have the same problem like the guy above me, but min happens when the phone's battery dies or if it turns unexpectedly,ie. When my son takes out the battery when it shutting it down( he's 2 so there is no stopping that)

Phone crashes after I received a jpd file via bluetooth. I've checked on the bluetooth folder and the image has 0 kb. How can i fix this, in order to receive via bluetooth?

Be aware that this rom is discontinued. Problems with the play store are known, and workarounds are found in the XDA thread. More roms for the trusty HTC Desire are found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=809328 I personally recommend Nikez ROM, who is also a part of the Evervolv team. Latest release is on Android 4.2.2 and is very smooth.
I have installed the beta ROM but also found that as soon as I setup my Google account to access the Play store, my HTC Desire will not boot - get the never ending loop. I need to replace the vendor.apk file with Vending-3.8.15.noupdate.norestrictions.apk but after hours of trying different google links to locate this file, I just cannot get a download site that has it. If you follow a found link, the file has either been removed, not found or the site requires registration only then to tell you that it doesn't have the file - Quite frustrating! Does anyone have a copy of the file or know of a site where the download actually works?

This is great, although one major problem, which I had with version 0.15 as well.

try this:
DeleteSettings -> Evervolv/Toolbox -> Performance -> Processor -> change the CPU governor from ONDEMAND to SMARTASSV2
if you reboot your phone, it will change back to ondemand. so you have to reset it after a reboot.
looks like the rom is dead now ... oh well moving on

Success! Here's what worked for me:

Deletei'm currently trying cm7.2 with prozor's init2sd script and its perfect for my requirements.. one simple question? does this rom has prozor's script?? i mean without activating any commands it automatically shows ext4 as internal memory.. thank u very much

ReplyDeleteSince video recording worked only on 15fps, I flashed stock rooted rom for awhile and been waiting for updates. I was hoping I could flash ICS again when video is fixed.
I check for it very often, but it already did not update since long time.
I'm just curious if there will be update? Should I keep waiting? Or I should just flash this version and enjoy with 15fps video recording.

ReplyDelete- Make sure you have adb and phone drivers so you can connect to the phone from computer via "adb shell"
ReplyDelete- Google for Vending-3.8.15.noupdate.norestrictions.apk, download it, rename to Vending.apk, place to sd card root
- Connect phone to PC via USB
- Boot into recovery (4EXT, in my case)
- Mount data, system and sdcard (in 'mounts and storage')
- run the command line as administrator
- cd Program Files(x86)/Android/android-sdk/platform-tools/
- adb shell (try this 'till a differnet prompt apears!)
- cd /data/data/
- rm -r com.android.vending
- rm -r com.android.vending.updater
- cd /system/app
- rm Vending.apk
- rm -r com.android.vending
- rm -r com.android.vending.updater
- cd /data/app/
- rm -r com.android.vending-2.apk or com.android.vending-1.apk
Settle the correct Play Store app (assuming you placed the downloaded Vending.apk to the root folder of sd card)
- cp /sdcard/Vending.apk /system/app/
- Clear Dalvik cache
- Reboot
Hey guys. I fully rooted my HTC Desire and installed Sandvold's ICS ROM for Desire, but I faced bootloop error when I restarted my phone. I have read about that bootloop and all about fixing it. I tried to fix that bootloop following this guide. I have installed ADB and phone drivers successfully.So after root I installed patched A2SDX by ADB. Next, I rebooted my phone, then entered to recovery menu and mounted data, system and sdcard (in 'Mounts and storage'). But when I try to cd /data/data in ADB while connected my HTC Desire, the error shows up and I can't access to that folder (/data/data/). One time I randomly entered to /data/data/ by cd command in cmd. So what's the problem? Please help, because I don't get it and I have no ideas how to fix it :/ The main fact is, that I can list directories by ls command, and I see /data/ folder in /data/ folder, but i can't access it. The error is that /sbin/sh: cd : can't cd to data/data/. Btw i can see that folder by Root Explorer

I had tried a rom from Cyanogen9 with ICS named "BCM-RC4.1U2" and every thing working well .. also the WIFI .. but the rom uses much power ..

You need to go to settings and click on the Wireless settings(not the button, which turns on WiFi) and then scan for networks

ReplyDeleteI have the same problem like the guy above me, but min happens when the phone's battery dies or if it turns unexpectedly,ie. When my son takes out the battery when it shutting it down( he's 2 so there is no stopping that)

ReplyDeleteBe aware that this rom is discontinued. Problems with the play store are known, and workarounds are found in the XDA thread. More roms for the trusty HTC Desire are found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=809328
I personally recommend Nikez ROM, who is also a part of the Evervolv team. Latest release is on Android 4.2.2 and is very smooth.

The Device will reboot and have not a bootlop:)
I have installed the beta ROM but also found that as soon as I setup my Google account to access the Play store, my HTC Desire will not boot - get the never ending loop. I need to replace the vendor.apk file with Vending-3.8.15.noupdate.norestrictions.apk but after hours of trying different google links to locate this file, I just cannot get a download site that has it. If you follow a found link, the file has either been removed, not found or the site requires registration only then to tell you that it doesn't have the file - Quite frustrating! Does anyone have a copy of the file or know of a site where the download actually works?
